The Academy offers an enriched program to enhance the development of our best and brightest students who have an interest and ability in the related fields of science, mathematics and technology.
The Academy will not just be teaching students factual information but rather developing their ability to research, investigate and reflect on local and global matters.
The Academy will excite, challenge and engage its students to ensure Queensland continues to build on its considerable local success stories such as the Scramjet and cancer research.
Research and related science industries are responsible for a significant contribution to both the quality of our lives and the state’s economic success.
Established and emerging new sciences are continuing to expand and evolve all around the world. Part of the Queensland Government’s Smart State Strategy is to provide a specialised program to cater for students that have the potential to excel in these fields.
Students who graduate from the Academy will be well placed to take on careers in new science fields such as biotechnology and nanotechnology that already contribute millions of dollar in revenue to our state’s economy.
By completing a dual law and science degree upon graduation, Academy students may utilise the combination of a broad academic program and their chosen specialisation to pursue broader careers such as IT intellectual property in science related industries.
